This session of Murder Most Foul takes us all the way back to prehistory, more specifically the Neolithic period in the Italian Alps. There we meet Oetzi, a prehistoric huntsman dubbed the Iceman by the archaeologists who found his body preserved inside a glacier. Later studies discovered a grim truth – Oetzi had not died by accident or natural causes: he had been murdered…

Looking at Oetzi, we will learn about Neolithic culture in the Alps. We will reconstruct the life of this early man, his violent death, and reflect on what we can learn about the state of advancement of this Neolithic population, their culture, and their beliefs.
